Inspection Process
- Identify the inspector or inspection team.
- Locate and review previous inspection reports.
- Proceed with the inspection tour.
- Get off the "beaten path" — look over, under, around, inside, and behind.
- Observe the activities of all personnel.
- Take immediate corrective action where there is imminent danger.
- Record all unsafe acts and conditions.
- Rank hazards and identify corrective action for each.
- Assign responsibility and a completion date for each action.
- Follow up to ensure corrective action is completed and effective.
- Communicate outcomes to all workers.
- Forward report to the Joint Committee for review.
